Think long-term, lifestyle changes.

I can testify that interval training is very effective! I've lost 40 pounds (I'm sure more, in fact, because I've gained muscle). As people around me have commented- I've completely changed my physique. I gave myself a year or two to meet my weight loss goal.
Tip: I made one small change at a time and made sure they were ones I could live with. For example, I switched from ice cream to fruit bars, but occasionally I still have ice cream. Then I started incorporating more fish. Almonds come in 100 calorie packs. I eat a pack about 1/2 hour before a meal and find I don't overeat. These were all great changes, but it was when I started the interval training 6 months ago, that the weight really started coming off. I find the short workout period and the satisfaction I get from pushing myself through a short/intense sprint is both motivating and a great stress reliever. You can give yourself 30 minutes a day. It's life-altering.
