is this the real deal
Question:I am an exercise science student and I know that losing more than 2 lbs per week may be harmful for your body. Not only is your metabolism affected but the bodies regulation of organs and nutrition may be affected as well. Agreed that proper nutrition must be present when losing weight especially during EPOC, yet losing more than 2lbs per week seems like a promise that you can not keep, nonetheless advertise.
Answer: Great question, I would probably need to check with the makers of this program for the exact science, but heres what i know. When you say that losing more than two pounds a week may be harmful,I believe you are referring to a standard starvation diet + aerobic exercise routine, and this site is all about how that just doesn't work. It lowers the set point of your metabolic rate and starving yourself of nutrients is never going to work.
This program is the opposite, you are well fed with portions very close to your Resting metabolic rate requirements, a figure thats been proven to not upset your metabolic rate. The food itself is nutrient dense providing a lot of what the body needs at a lower calorie cost than our traditional diets, in fact you would get a lot more nutrients than a traditional diet. (In fact Mike Geary is experimenting with doubling his eating of nutrient dense foods and not putting on any weight so there is a theory there about weight gain being related to the lack of quality rather than quantity, but more work needs to be done here)
So eating at your RMR you won't lose huge amounts of weight but you are getting exactly what you need to run your body. So lets add in the exercise. Without saying exactly what it is, it has a high metabolic cost which runs over time. You also have adaptation of your mitochondria and glycogen storage ability of your muscles so your metabolic set point increases substantially rather than decreasing. If you look at the hierarchy of fat loss on the main warp speed fat loss page, this program combines a lot of that into a very efficient workout which i haven't seen before. The last person i trained was actualy in a wheelchair, it was before this program had come out and the program i used was not nearly as efficient, this would have been to advanced for him anyway.(this is not a beginners workout) At the end of three months he had lost 44 pounds of fat and gained 12 pounds of muscle. That was about 3.5 pounds per week and his health was considerably better after those 12 weeks. And hes not the exception, I have seen many more do the same and its difficult to argue with results. This program advertises 5lbs per week, a tall order no doubt and believe me its not a walk in the park, this program is very tough. Its also not the kind of program you will do for more than eight weeks in a row, but if you do this correctly you can lose that kind of weight in a healthy manner.
