Is Tabata good for toning also?

My current exercise routine consists of an hour long workout twice a week (a bootcamp style class I go to). I also walk 4/5 hours a week. I like the sound of Tabata but I'm wondering if its suitable for me. I don't need to lose weight but definitely would like more tone around the thigh and bum area. Any thoughts?
