HIIT and Kettle Bells

by Rick
(San Antonio, Texas)

What's the best way to add Kettle Bells to the workout? I'd like to do a sprinting HIIT workout, but I need other exercises to balance things out.

I was thinking about Sprints, Kettle bells Swings (Posterior chain and core) and maybe something like the Clean and Snatch...

Sprinting 2 - 3 day per week and Kettle bells 2 - 3 days per week. Would this be too much?

Interval training sprinting with Kettle Bells
by: Victor

Hi, I alternate between sprint interval training (currently 16 minutes - with 6 intervals) and Kettle bells (two-hand swings, one-hand swings, situps). One thing I'm noticing is that the quadriceps are already used quite heavily in sprinting and are then used significantly for some of the Kettle bell exercises (with squats) like the two-hand swings, one-hand swings. I think there might be a danger of overfatiguing them. So I'm trying to pick Kettle bell exercises that only focus on the upper body muscles and core. Still too early to see how effective this will be, but I do feel more energetic and "tighter".

Just another choice
by: LEE

I like to incorperate ro with KB swings besides my favorite Nate. Since some gyms do not have rings, I modified Nate to get a little more cardio. I have seen exceptional results:

5 Sets for time:

500m row
20 KB swings
5 Hand stand pushups
