"Low carb" is a misleading term. Nutritionally empty, high calorie refined carbs are no good for anyone. Healthy carbs from vegetables are essential, and most people do well with fruits, too. Eating six times a day works for some, but eating only three times a day works better for others. It's important for each individual to figure out what kind of eating style and foods work best for them. The only universally applicable rule is that nearly everyone needs to consume much more in the way of whole plant foods. Meat, dairy, and grain requirements vary greatly from one person to the next.
