fitting in recreational exercise

I like to bike ride and hike. How do I fit these in while I am doing interval training?

A lot of the experts say you should focus completely on your goal (eg weight loss) for a short period then vary your exercises.

i am not so sure, i think having fun with your exercises is probably more important. You can either do recreational exercises on your off days or you can scale down your intervals and move through the weeks a little slower
