Day by Day Routine

by McElroy

I've read other articles and items about HIIT. Every other item has stressed that you should not do an HIIT workout every day. Within a five day workout schedule how would you suggest working in the interval workouts on a day-to-day schedule for a workout week?

HIIT Workout timing
by: Greg

Its a good idea to split your intervals and have a days rest in between. It gives your body a chance to rest and recover, and this is just as important as the exercise.

Over a five day period, lets say Mon to Fri, I would do intervals on Mon, Wed and Fri. If i added in resistance training then i could do this on Tue, Thur and Sat.

If i was short on time i would double up the interval training and resistance training on the same day.

yeah, hiit everyday will be pretty demanding on the body. I'd agree with greg and try and fit in rest days between sessions, this way your body can recover which means you'l be far less likely to get injured. I'd also do hiit after my normal gym based workout routine rather than before, as otherwise you spend all your energy and simply cant't lift any weights at all.

Keep it up!

Just remember that the most important parts are first, doing the right things, and second, continuing to do the right things. Results won't happen overnight, but they WILL happen.

A lot of these recommendations are great. Travis Steffen tells us some of the same things in his teachings.
