Baby Belly Fat Loss

by Jessica
(Gold Coast, Australia)

Hi, first of all, thank you for your informative website, it has given me a better understanding on muscles vs fat and how it all works. I have done lots of reading over the last couple of weeks regarding losing baby belly fat since I starting my training program. I have given birth to 6 children and was always told that I would never get a flat tummy but I was inspired as I came across the SportsBlitz site where women who had children and their before pics looked like me and now they have flat tummy's after only 12 weeks. Some of them used pills or shakes and had online/personal trainers. Well, I cant afford any of those luxuries so I jog for 30 minutes every morning, after my warm up do squats, lunges, crunches & step ups on alternate days I do swimming and play touch footy. I have changed my eating habits to smaller portions and am learning about nutrition for me and my family. My first question is 1, can I really get a flat tummy? 2, is my fitness programme helping me to achieve my goal? (current height 5.3", weight 61kg goal is to reduce weight to 51kg) 3, if I changed to interval training do I completely rest on alternate days?

Answer: If you are prepared to do the hard work, then of course you can have a flat tummy. And it sounds like you are.

What i would change in your workout is that i would add interval sprints after you do your weights and perhaps drop the 30 min jog. Keep the swimming and touch footy, its always good to have a bit of fun with the workout.

Try this for about 4 - 6 weeks, if you aren't losing then perhaps commit fully to the lose belly fat workout and start at about week 5 with the resistance training.
