Any clues on how many calories are burnt

Anybody got a rough guide of calories burnt? Want to put it in my exercise tracker and can't find an answer- know it depends on my weight (235lb) and what I do but any rough clues? Like having some record-thanks

I would suggest doing a few HIIT work outs on a machine that can tell you your calories used, such as an elliptical or stationary bike. My experience is about 1000 calories for an hour of fairly hard work. 210 lbs. HIIT would be about the same, I would guess, with the rest periods. The after burn would probably be more.

Thanks for your reply doing 50 min on machines gave me about 500/600 ? So maybe I am a little off the intensity- but the machines are not set for my weight height etc

Calories don't matter...

If you are doing tabatas, then you should realize that calories have nothing to do with fitness or loosing weight. Get the, "How many calories burnt?" out of your head. It doesn't matter! Fat loss has NOTHING to do with calories burnt. That was what we have been taught forever, so it is ingrained in us, but new research disproves the old ideas...

Ok thanks :) he ony thing with calories being an old idea is that calorie control so far has got me 73 lb lighter, and so or me those old ideas are very hard to ignore

Calories burned during Tabata training

I agree, calorie counting in terms of consumed and burned has helped me lose 33 pounds in the past 10 weeks. Something about it works for me.

I started myfitness pal a few days ago, which is a calorie counter and it is excellent. Calories don't matter to someone who already eats mostly meats fruit and veggies. But for most of is that are eating snacks every 2 to 3 hours, it is an eye opener to see how much you are taking in. And how little you are really burning. I just did 45a minute! Tibata class. Feel like I am going to die!

I am on MFP too

I am on MFP too, I don't eat back my cals now so it is less important. I have gone on to loose a further 15lb since my last post here so it is working :)
